SMT Operator-Line

Operate and Maintain the SMT line to ensure the output of high-quality parts. Provide support to your surrounding team and work together to attain optimal efficiency and quality of products. This role is for afternoon and/or midnight shift. Training and shift premium provided.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to

  • Operation and/or setup of various SMT Line equipment: Vacuum Sealer, Tape and Reel Machine, In-line Cleaner Machine, Stencil Cleaner Machine, Ionograph Machine, Dry Cabinet, PCB Loader, Feeders, and Matrix Trays
  • Set up, operate and maintain the following SMT Line equipment: Solder Paste Printers, Paste Height Measurement Machine, Pick & Place Equipment, Reflow Ovens, Fluid Dispenser, conveyers and In-line Cleaner Machine as per work instructions and maintenance schedules, on time
  • Maintain SMT Lines performance through effective organization of workstations, defect prevention strategies and on time equipment maintenance
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable quality assurance standards and internal SOPs
  • Verify parts and their feeder pick up locations and placements with updated Setup Sheet and Assembly documentations prior to full production
  • Perform cursory inspection on part placement quality as per set quality standards
  • Provide support to other SMT Line operation and willing to fill in different SMT positions as required
  • Communicate and cooperate with in-process inspectors regarding part change or placement defects reduction strategies
  • Participate in team quality improvement meetings, particularly to investigate root cause analysis when   issues occur.
  • Troubleshoot equipment in an effective and efficient manner as per work instructions to reduce equipment down time
  • Perform scheduled maintenance of workstations and equipment to optimize process performance
  • Utilize the Performance Tracking System effectively and consistently on a daily basis to track Performance to Standard (PTS) and Changeover performance of SMT Assembly Lines
  • Support 5S+1 initiative within the team     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum secondary school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous experience in electronic manufacturing is required
  • Knowledge / background in IPC – A – 610 standards. IPC certification is an asset
  • Strong team player while able to function independently and with minimal supervision
  • Self motivated, self starter
  • Knowledge of Siemens and Juki Pick & Place Machines, DEK and EKRA Paste Printers are an asset
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Highest level of patience, stability, and consistency is required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills in both written and oral English
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including daily and weekly overtime
  • Colour identification is a requirement of this role
