ROLE:                  People & Culture (HR) Generalist

STATUS:              Full-Time

LOCATION:        Burnaby

As a People & Culture (HR) Generalist, you will work as part of a team to implement People & Culture programs. Assist in all aspects of People & Culture, including (but not limited to); staffing, compensation & benefits, administration, and training & development. The incumbent will work in a manufacturing environment as assigned, meeting customer requirements (internal & external) while upholding the organization’s core principles.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Maintain a professional, customer service-oriented manner within the organization, while supporting the Creation image as per P&C team objectives and policies.
  • Providing a recruiting strategy and recruitment resources for the company and for individually approved additions to the employee base.
  • Management and continuous improvement of the new hire orientation process.
  • Planning, management, communication, administration and continuous improvement of the Company’s employee benefits plans and Employee handbook.
  • Creation and implementation of People & Culture-related Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Installation, management, administration and continuous improvement of Salary Planning Policies and Systems, performance appraisal process and Training and Development programs.
  • Management and administration of all statutory and legal requirements related to the recruiting, hiring, retention and termination of employees.
  • Planning, management and administration of Employee Communications Meetings, Employee Recognition Programs and Companywide Employee Events (i.e. Annual Picnic, Annual Christmas party).
  • Management, administration and continuous improvement of employee dispute resolution processes.
  • Work closely with the P&C Leader to provide support to all Teams in the Business Unit.
  • Maintain Positive relationships with all Creation people through frequent interaction.
  • Assist P&C Leader with various projects and tasks, as assigned.
  • Set up new hires and make necessary changes to team member accounts in the Vision and ADP systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of team member information.
  • Track and maintain up-to-date records of Annual Partnership Discussions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in a Human Resources generalist capacity.
  • Passion for being the best in their field.
  • Highly efficient multi-tasker with a strong work ethic
  • Comfortable combining basic duties in an individual contributor role with management responsibilities while developing an organization of People and Culture professionals over time.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Employee Benefits Administration, Performance Appraisal Processes and Salary Planning Strategies and laws and statutory requirements related to the People and Culture management function.
  • Command of spoken and written English language; the ability to clearly express complex ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Self-direction and accountability for specific outcomes and deadlines, an ability to set priorities, as well as manage shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Work well both collaboratively and independently
  • Independent: able to work with minimal supervision; demonstrate initiative and self-direction.
  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and to deliver results accurately and on time
  • Interpersonal skills including teamwork, listening, giving feedback, giving instructions, and conflict resolution.
